Three dimensional drawing / sketching can be very difficult. However, using isometric paper, helps when drawing products that are often best explained, if drawn in 3D.
Near the bottom of isometric paper, draw three lines, which mark the bottom corner of the packaging. |
|
Complete the two sides of the packaging, following the isometric grid.
Sketch in the top of the ‘cuboid’.
Sketch the top sides. This will mean not following the isometric grid. The grid can be used to ensure that the ‘curves’ are centrally located.
Add the supporting piece, following the isometric grid.
Add the hand hole. This will allow the packaging to be held securely by hand.
Sketch in the holes, which will eventually hold the drinks bottles in position.
Sketch in the graphics, images and symbols.
Add appropriate colour and shade. Consider varying the ‘darkness’ of shade applied to each side. The horizontal sides could be shaded darker, than those that are vertical.
