EVALUATION OF SAMPLE DESIGN 1

The fantasy figure is simple to manufacture, as it is based on regular shapes that can be cut out of the paper / card easily.

The character represents a ‘fun’ and colourful character, with psychedelic colours and patterns, based on 1960s fashion. The character is a musician, ready to play his guitar at a party or a music event. The colours and patterns represent the type of clothing worn to a fancy dress party.

The character is unusual and different, the type that will interest a wide range of people including children. Children tend to like colourful, ‘larger than life’ characters.

The nets/developments are arranged on the pages, to minimise waste, with the second sheet having basic instructions as to the equipment required to fold the nets/developments.

When all the nets/developments are glued together, it will stand upright with relative stability. However, if the base of the cones are made to be wider, the stability of the card ‘model’ increases.
