| The second page is still an early development page, with evidence of much initial designing. Initial idea/ideas from page one, have been developed further. In addition, new design aspects have been introduced. | |
| A light sensor has been introduced. This will turn on and off the ultra bright LED, which helps when the light level drops. This would be useful when working outside, in the evening or in a shaded place. Taking measurements in a dark / dimly lit room or inside a cupboard / storage unit, will be activate the LED light. |  |
| The LED circuit has been discussed for the first time. If the final design incorporates a light, the circuit will need further development and so will the method of replacing the coin batteries. |  |
| A writing style for the name / trade name of the product has been introduced. Again, further development is needed on subsequent design sheets. |  |
| An exploded view has been used for the first time and shows the casing disassembled. More of this style of drawing will be needed, when developing the design further. Side views and part views are also used on this page. | |

| Methods of joining the various parts are discussed and also a method of ‘hanging up’ the tape measure, when it is not in use. | |
