Designers regularly draw in 3D. Isometric projection, is often their way of presenting designs and ideas. Drawing in isometric, using the correct technical techniques, is time consuming. Consequently, once the techniques have been mastered, it is quite easy to sketch quickly in isometric, relatively accurately.

1. START WITH THE BASIC GUIDELINE DRAWN ACCURATELY. | 1. SKETCH THE ISOMETRIC CIRCLE.
Try sketching an isometric cube. Start by accurately drawing faint guidelines (shown here in red) and slowly build up the sides of the cube.
Try sketching a cylinder, in isometric. Only a few accurate guidelines are required, with the rest being sketched.
Try sketching this 3D shape in isometric. Start with drawing accurate guidelines (shown here in red), followed by the cube and both cylinders.
STAGES OF CONSTRUCTION
Add appropriate colour / shade to your isometric object. Consider using a combination of the line technique and light to dark shading.
