The symbol / logo seen opposite belongs to the Rainforest Alliance and it was found on the packaging of a brand of tea. This environmental organisation works closely with conservation groups, local peoples and companies throughout the world to promote conservation and sustainability. They also play an important role in educating young people about the important part we all play in conservation.
For example, Rainforest Alliance Certified farms have worked hard to reduce their carbon footprint by developing good agricultural practices.
The Rainforest Alliance has a major role to play in protecting the rainforests. They work to encourage good forestry practices such as sustainability and managed forests.
It is a great honour to be awarded a Rainforest Alliance Certification. This means that the company has worked hard to reduce its carbon footprint and to conserve / protect the environment.

4. Copy the logos/symbols that represent the environmental organisations and paste them into the spaces below. Try to find at least six. Name each organisation.

5. Which of the logos/symbols you have pasted above is the most effective / interesting? You should consider; the colour scheme (is it environmental?), the simplicity of the symbol (is easy to understand?) and in your opinion, does it accurately represent conservation or protection of the environment?
