Research is a very important aspect of any design folder. However, you must ensure that the research you carry out is directly relevant to your product/project.

For example, if you are researching mechanical toys make sure that you research mechanisms that could apply to a mechanical toy design. Do not include mechanisms that will never be considered and are not suitable for the toy. Remember to constantly refer to your product in your notes.

When researching an electronics project, only research those circuits that could be applied to your design. Do not include circuits that you have just come across on the internet or in a book, that will not be considered as suitable for your project.

SAMPLE PLAIN RESEARCH SHEET
