The snake shape is then cut into pieces to form a simple jigsaw. A Fretsaw is used again for this purpose. The pieces fit back into the hole produced by the fretsaw. A base of thin 6mm plywood, MDF or hardboard is fixed to the base with countersunk screws. |
FIXING THE BASE TO THE TOP | |
Dia. A - Four holes, the diameter of
a countersunk screw, are drilled in the base. A piece of masking tape is
wrapped round the drill bit to ensure that each hole is drilled to the
thickness of the base. Dia. B - A countersunk bit is used to countersink each hole. Dia. C - The top is drilled with a smaller drill bit Dia. D - A steel countersunk screw is used to fix the base to the top |
