| The modern
recycling bin seen below is manufactured from MDF or PLYWOOD. Old plastic
shopping bags can be ‘hung’ inside each compartment on hooks. There is a
central compartment for used shopping bags. It is delivered to the
customer as a flat pack and can be assembled within ten minutes. It rests
on casters for easy movement. As it is wood based it can be recycled at
the end of its useful working life. |

| The recycle bin can be made by hand tools or very accurately using a computer controlled laser cutter or CNC Router. | |

| The sides
of the bin are first designed using computer software. The design is
processed (converted to coordinates) and exported to the CNC router or
laser cutter. The design can be simulated on the computer screen and mistakes can be corrected before real manufacturing takes place. |

The CNC router / laser
cutter cuts the shape extremely accurately and will continue to cut as
many sides as are requested. The design can be recalled at any time for more pieces to be cut. |
| Each piece (sides and top and base) slot together with simple joints. They are then glued so that the bin is permanently fixed together. | |
