The buggy below has a light sensor on the front. It has been programmed to move forward until a dark line has been detected, stop for a short time, and reverse until it meets another dark line. It repeats this continually.

Remember, even if the motors are set at the same speed, movement in a straight line is virtually impossible. This is because the quality of every motor varies slightly and this affects speed.
