THE DESIGN BRIEF
V. Ryan © 2002
You are to design and make a CD storage unit. This must
hold a number of CDs securely. It must be easy to select CDs and place them
back in the unit. It should be possible to check that all CDs have been
returned and it must be easy to see the titles. The unit must be
’free-standing’ or fixed to a wall. If ‘free-standing’ a rotating unit
should be considered.
Modern materials should be seriously considered and the cost kept to a
minimum.
The design should be imaginative and not based on ‘traditional’ skills.
Colour and image are important.
In the space below write the design brief in your own words. This will help you understand exactly, what the client is asking you to produce.
