Regular lifting of heavy weights can cause back injury. However, if appropriate lifting equipment, including trolleys are used, injury can be avoided. Using proper lifting equipment will help protect the workforce and keep workers at work and not off work through injury.
This is the correct way to lift and move a heavy weight. The trolley acts as a lever making it relatively easy to lift the weight. Moving the weight is also easy, due to the wheels and the users control over the movement and direction of the trolley.   Lifting a weight like this is extremely dangerous. Back injury is likely and even serious back injury.
Moving with a heavy weight is also dangerous. Carrying the weight puts even more strain on the back and it is difficult to keep control of the weight. If the package is dropped it could land on feet and it would certainly be damaged. Bumping into someone with the sharp corner of the box could also cause injury.
 
 
 
The Fishing Trolley shown below folds away so that it can be stored in a small space. The handle is also retractable. The mechanism works smoothly, if regularly lubricated with oil. However, this type of mechanism can cause accidents if it is not used with care. It has been known for hands and fingers to be trapped as the trolley is ‘collapsed / folded’.
