The handheld electronic toy has been designed for young children.

It allows them to select different sounds and aids the development of hand / eye coordination.

AESTHETICS: What do you think of the way the handheld device looks. You may wish to consider whether it is eye catching, if it is suitable for young children and the colour scheme.
I like the way the device is based on the shape of an animal (Polar Bear?). The shape / theme will interest young children, as it is similar to a cartoon. Further to this, the product looks comfortable to handle and easy to use. The buttons and controls seem to be in the perfect position, for use and to reflect the features of the animal.

STRENGTH: Does the handheld product look strong enough, keeping in mind that it will be handled roughly by young children? Is it likely to last many years / decades? Explain your answer.
The device looks quite sturdy and likely to withstand repeated drops and knocks. The buttons and controls look quite robust, ideal for a child who may be rather forceful when using it. The device does not appear to have small parts that could be broken off. This product is designed to last many years.

EDUCATIONAL / LEARNING?: What do think a young child may learn from the handheld product?
A child using the device will develop hand /eye coordination skills, due to his / her use of fingers to press the control buttons. A child will also learn to press combinations of buttons, to achieve particular sounds or to select tunes.

THEME: The handheld game’s shape and form, is based on the theme ‘wildlife’. Do you think the design has been successful, in terms of the theme only?
The wildlife theme is represented by the outline of the device and the colour scheme. The device could be based on the shape of a bear, but it is not obvious, as the shape could quite easily represent a ‘ghost’. The shape is based on only one animal, whereas you would expect wildlife to be represented by several animals.
