You will need at least one development page in your design folder. This is where you take your best idea and develop it further until it is almost ready to manufacture. An alternative is to take aspects of several design ideas and combine them, forming the final product. |
Remember to fill the development sheet with drawings and notes. Your notes should be wide and varied and may include some or all of the headings below. Your project may be so different that the notes are individual and do not necessarily include many of the headings outlined below. |
JOINTS AND FIXINGS - USE OF ADHESIVES - ADD HEALTH AND SAFETY DETAIL -
SELECT MATERIALS AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU CHOSE THEM? - ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS -
COSTING - ENVIRONMENT - ERGONOMICS - MECHANISMS - ACCESSORIES - FINAL OVERALL SIZE - DESCRIBE FEATURES/FUNCTIONS - ADD COMMENT FROM CLIENT/POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS |
If you include good notes on; costs, environmental factors, materials and health and safety, you will not need a separate page for each one. |
