RAINFOREST SYMBOLS - 2

A good technique for copying a drawing, especially a symbol, is to draw a grid around the original picture. The example shows below the Rainforest Alliance symbol.

1. A grid is accurately drawn over the top of the original symbol, see diagram 1.

2. The grid is then drawn out again, this time it has been enlarged and the symbol drawn inside it, see diagram 2.

3. Finally - colour is added and the result is an enlarged version of the original symbol

Using a grid helps when a larger drawing is needed as the grid can be read as coordinates (see below).


The symbol below represents the fictitious ‘Forest Protection League’. Draw an enlarged version of the symbol in the grid provided opposite. Add colour and shade.
