Third angle orthographic drawing is a technique whereby the product being drawn is shown from the side, the front and plan (above). This style of drawing is for the manufacturer to follow, during the making of the product. An orthographic drawing is to a scale and has dimensions / measurements. The drawing should be so accurate, that it is possible for an engineer elsewhere in the world, to manufacture the product, without the need for further details. A 3D version of the office / task light is shown opposite |
|
An accurate third angle orthographic working drawing of the office / task light is seen below. Dimensions (measurements) and a scale have been added, so that it’s size is known. Orthographic drawings can include two side views, a plan view, an underneath view and sectional views. | |
