PIC-MICROCONTROLLER PROJECT 1
V. Ryan © 2002
Below is a pic-microcontroller project - two views can be seen, one of the front and other of the back of a model house. A PIC has been used to help increase the security of the house by turning on the two light bulbs upstairs. Also, as part of the programming, a model person rotates into one of the bedroom windows to make the house look occupied. The device could be used when the house is unoccupied. |

The sensor circuit can be clearly seen at the back of the model house (circuit diagram below). A micro-switch is activated as the front gate opens and this triggers the 555 timer circuit. The final relay of the circuit is connected to a pic-microcontroller project board which turns on a motor, rotating a model person into one of the upstairs windows and turning on the two upstairs lights. A buzzer then sounds for 10 seconds (this could be a radio or a recording of voices). The PIC continually monitors the circuit and if the gate is opened again the same sequence of events takes place. |
