Motorcyclists have a poor safety record on the roads of the UK, compared to those choosing other modes of transport. Only one percent of road users are motorcyclists, but fourteen percent of road deaths and serious injuries are motorcyclists. Motorcyclists are sixteen times more likely to have fatal or serious accident, compared to motorcyclists. Motorcycling is dangerous, even for those riders who are experienced and well trained.
Using the internet as a research tool, collect statistics regarding motorcycle accidents in the UK. Write a summary of your findings below. This may include the number of motorcyclist killed and those injured.

MOTORCYCLING AND STAYING SAFE
 
1. Get a provisional licence.
2. Take CBT (Compulsory Basic Training).
3. Wear good quality safety gear, helmet etc....
5. Practice on the roads with L plates and attend pre-test training.
6. Read and understand ‘The Highway Code’.
7. Apply for and pass the theory test.
8. Apply for and pass your practical test.
9. Always ride carefully and within the limits of the motorcycle.
