2a. A design agency has designed a cartoon character to encourage pupils / students to wear goggles when using machines. The agency has developed a character called ‘Safe Ed”. The diagram shown below shows the cartoons head. The design company intends to design a device that moves the Ed’s head up and down.
The basic layout is shown below. The mechanism is contained within a box (shown as a dotted line). When a handle is pressed Ed’s head moves upwards and then returns to its original position. Complete the mechanism and explain how it works.
