If a machine screw / bolt is included in a sectioned viewed the screw / bolt is not sectioned. Common parts such as screws are not sectioned, as a sectional view of these would not provide any additional information. An example of this is shown below.
 
 
 
 
HOW TO DRAW THE SECTIONAL VIEW
 
Stage one shows the blind hole and the shoulder, at the top of the hole.
 
The length of thread has been added in stage two. It is important that if a threaded hole is sectioned that the 45 degree hatching lines are projected all the way through the threaed portion.
 
 
Stage three - the steel plate has been added to the sectioned view. The hatching of the plate is in the opposite direction of the hatching of the main steel body.
 
Stage four shows how NOT to add the machine screw. Detail of the threads is not rerquired.
 
 
 
 
Stage five shows how the bolt should look, as part of a sectional view.
